Passports
Applications for passport are accepted by appointment only during routine service hours. To schedule an appointment, please visit our appointment system for Americans Citizens Services at:

Passport application forms can be obtained through https://pptform.state.gov. We will not accept hand-written or hand-filled applications.
PLEASE NOTE: Your appointment refers to the time you should arrive in the Consular Section, including anticipating drive time and security screening. Please take a number once you arrive in the Consular Section. Your appointment time does not refer to the time you will be seen by U.S. Embassy staff.
U.S. Citizens who do not schedule an appointment or provide an application form completed through https://pptform.state.gov will be asked to return to the U.S. Embassy on another business day. Walk-ins for life-or-death emergency passport applications will be accepted, subject to approval by a consular officer.
U.S. passports are issued only to U.S. citizens. For first-time applications for adults or applications for minors aged 16 and under, please see First Passports.
After your application has been accepted by the Consul, you may return to pick up your new passport without an appointment. This may be done only on the date given to you by the Consul and only during business hours.
The U.S. Embassy will not keep your passport while we process your application.
A passport is an internationally recognized travel document that verifies the identity and nationality of the bearer. A valid U.S. passport is required to enter and leave most foreign countries. Only the U.S. Department of State has the authority to grant, issue or verify United States passports. When traveling, please remember to carry a photocopy of your passport separately from your passport. In the event of loss or theft, the copy will facilitate issuance of an emergency passport.
